Detox Smoothies

Detox with the red berry breakfast

Don’t be fooled by the color of this delicious smoothie. Just because it’s not green, doesn’t mean it’s not going to give you a great start to your detox. The berries in this smoothie help turn on detoxifying enzymes and the ginger helps by stimulating digestion in this sweet and spicy recipe. This one will have your mouth watering and your body detoxified.

Red Berry Breakfast (Serves 2)

Ingredients:

1 x cup of frozen raspberries (unsweetened)
1 x 3/4 cup of unsweetened rice or almond milk (chilled)
1 x 1/4 cup of frozen pitted cherries (unsweetened)
1 x 1/2 a tablespoon of honey
2 x teaspoons of fresh ginger (grated finely)
1 x teaspoon of ground flax-seed
1 to 2 teaspoons of lemon juice.

Instructions:

1. Pour all of the ingredients into a blender and add the Lemon Juice to taste. Keep blending until consistency is smooth.
2.Pour your smoothie into a chilled glass and enjoy your detoxifying Red Berry Breakfast Smoothie.
